A digital footprint does not need to break the bank. When you are starting out, you may simply need a page that explains what you do and gives potential customers a way to contact you.
That is why I am offering a free one-page business website, with hosting, SSL and a subdomain included. It is a practical starting point for small businesses, freelancers, sole traders and new ventures that want to get online.
Enquire about your free website
Your business deserves somewhere to be found
You might be making products in a shed, running a service from home or building a business around another job. When someone asks what you do, having one link to share makes the next step easier.
Social media can help people discover you. A website gives those interested visitors a focused place to read about your business without searching through posts. Put the link in your profile, on a business card or in an email, and customers can find the essentials together.
A first website can be straightforward. A clear explanation of your services, a few suitable images and accurate contact details may be enough to begin.
What does the free website offer include?
- A one-page website: space to introduce your business, explain key services, show images and share contact details.
- A responsive layout: a page designed to work on phones, tablets and computers.
- A free subdomain: a web address under an existing domain, agreed before the page goes live.
- Hosting included: somewhere for your website to live so people can visit it online.
- SSL included: an HTTPS connection that encrypts information travelling between the website and a visitor’s browser.
We will confirm the page details and hosting arrangements before work begins. Any optional extras will be discussed and agreed separately.
Who is a one-page business website suitable for?
This offer is a useful starting point for businesses that want a simple online introduction and a route to enquiries. That could be a local service, a freelancer, a home-based maker or a new venture testing its first offer.
For example, a gardener could explain the work they take on, list their service area and show a few photographs. A freelance designer could introduce their specialism and make it easy to request a conversation.
If you need a shop, several service pages or more advanced features, mention that in your enquiry. Those requirements sit outside the free one-page package, and we can discuss what would suit your business.
What should go on your first website?
The most useful page answers a few everyday customer questions: what do you offer, who do you help, where do you work and how can someone contact you?
- Your business name and introduction. Describe your work in language customers understand.
- Your main services. Focus on the things you most want people to enquire about.
- Your location or service area. Help visitors decide whether you can help them.
- Your images and logo. Use material you own or have permission to use.
- A clear next step. Make it easy to call, email or enquire.
You do not need to have polished copy ready before getting in touch. A short explanation of your business gives us something useful to discuss.
How to request your free website
- Visit the offer page. Use the enquiry form to share your business name, what you do and the best way to contact you.
- Agree what your page will include. We will discuss your services, contact details, preferred subdomain and any images or logo.
- Review the website. Check the content and details before it goes live, then share your new link with customers.
The enquiry starts a conversation about your requirements. The page and hosting details will be agreed before work begins.
A few helpful answers
Do I need to buy a domain name?
A subdomain is included, so buying a separate domain is not required for this package. If you already own a domain or would like your own, mention it in your enquiry. Any additional arrangements and costs will be agreed beforehand.
Is buying Spencer a coffee required?
No. The offer page includes an optional “Buy Spencer a Coffee” link for anyone who would like to support the work. Your free website remains free whether or not you choose to contribute.
Will a website automatically bring customers?
A website gives people a destination; you still need to help them find it. Share the link through your social profiles, business listings and customer conversations. Search visibility and enquiries take further work and are not guaranteed by having a page online.
Take the first step towards getting online
If you have been putting off a website because you only need something simple, this could be a useful way to start. Tell me about your business and we can discuss a page that helps people understand your work.
